Awareness on internet safety

Never use the internet to spread gossip, bully, or hurt someone’s reputation. Never post an online threat against a person, school, business, or organization. You can be charged with a crime for doing so. Don’t share personal information with people you view as “friends” online.

Keeping Students Safe in the Digital Age

We all lead digital lives. Being constantly connected can open our students up to a world of opportunities. But with those opportunities come certain risks  and the possibility for exposure to inappropriate content and potentially dangerous situations.

Think Before You Post or Tweet

Although many high school students know the basic ways to stay safe online, they also must commit to being ethical online users. Here are three important things to keep in mind:

  1. Post what you feel comfortable with the world which includes parents, teachers, college admission personnel, and potential employers seeing.
  2. Never use the Internet to spread gossip, bully, or hurt someone’s reputation.
  3. Never post an online threat against a person, school, business, or organization. You can be charged with a crime for doing so.

Avoid making online friends

Don’t share personal information with people you view as “friends” online. This includes your name, address, phone number, financial information, and school name, as well as any passwords or other private information.

Healthy Weeknight Meals

Cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day. It’s often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
